300 дней вокруг света с Игорем Зарецким

Друзья, буквально только что мы получили очень неприятные новости. Всех деталей из уважения к персональной информации и врачебной тайне дать не можем, только общую картину:

Перед гонкой Игорь прошел очень тщательное медицинское обследование. Да, возраст, да здоровье не идеальное. Но проблемы, которых следовало в первую очередь опасаться, по мнению специалистов были решены. Учитывая, какие нагрузки испытывает человек за пять месяцев одиночного плавания, мы воспользовались этой непредвиденной остановкой в Австралии и убедили Игоря сходить в местную клинику, пройти небольшое обследование. Мы переслали результаты обследования российским врачам, которые занимались Игорем на подготовительном этапе. К сожалению, результат неутешительный. Врач команды по итогам консилиума настоятельно рекомендует Игорю лететь в Москву, пройти тщательное обследование, возможно, потребуется операция.

Что будет с гонкой и с «Эсмеральдой»? "Эсмеральда" остается в Олбани ждать Игоря. Для нас, для команды Игоря, для его спонсора компании Double V Russia, гонка не закончилась, пока сам Игорь Зарецкий не отдаст такой команды. В конце концов, остановка сэра Френсиса Чичестера в Австралии затянулась на 48 дней, что не помешало ему войти в историю парусного спорта. Сам Игорь, как помниет, уверен: «Пока ты не увидел входной буй в Ле Сабль д’Олон, борьбу нельзя прекращать».

Мы направили официальное уведомление оргкомитету гонки #GoldenGlobeRace с просьбой разрешить Игорю закончить гонку в классе "Чичестер". Оргкомитет поддержал решение команды и выразил надежду на благополучное завершение. Как сказал президент гонки Don McIntyre: "Sad news but this is the adventure of LIFE and IGOR is grabbing every bit of that".

Friends, we have just got very bad news. We cannot go into the details in the respect of personal information, just the outline:
Before the race, Igor underwent a very thorough medical examination. There were some issues, age considered. But the problems that should have been primarily feared, according to specialists, were solved. Taking into the account the enormous psychological and physical stress of a five months solo sailing, we took advantage of this unforeseen stop in Australia and convinced Igor to undergo an examination at a local clinic in Albany. We then sent the results to the doctor in Moscow who supervised Igor at the race preparatory stage. Unfortunately, the result is disappointing. Following the consultation, the team doctor strongly recommends Igor to fly to Moscow to undergo a thorough examination which shall answer the question whether there's a need for a surgery.
Is this the end of the race for "Esmeralda"? She will stay in Albany waiting for Igor. For us, Igor Zaretskiy's team and our general sponsor the Double V Russia company, the race does not end until Igor Zaretsky himself says so. Just a reminder, Sir Francis Chichester stayed 48 days in Australia before he continued his epic solo circumnavigation to put his name in the history of sailing. Igor himself is sure: “Until you see the buoy at Le Sable d’Olon, the race cannot be stopped”.
We have already notified the race committee of the #GoldenGlobeRace , requesting to allow Igor to finish the race in the Chichester class after all medical issues being settled. The committee supported the decision of the team. As Don McIntyre said: "Sad news but this is the adventure of LIFE and IGOR is grabbing every bit of that."
