Keep in mind that you'll be hoisting up a side of the mattress, or lifting the whole thing, when changing your baby's sheet.Cleaning: Most traditional mattresses suggest spot-cleaning only. Some have removable covers that can be machine-washed. The innards of at least one crib mattress on the market can be hosed down in the tub once its washable cover is removed.Certification seals: Crib mattresses for sale in the United States must meet safety standards defined by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the American Society for Testing and Materials. (The Juvenile Products Manufacturer Association does not test or certify crib mattresses.) A manufacturer's claim that a product is organic can mean a variety of things, but look for an Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification (a worldwide uniform certification), which assures you that certain flame retardants and heavy metals were not used to make the mattress.

This is a review of the King Size, Snuggle-Pedic, Double Layer, Memory Foam, Mattress Topper. I was provided with a free sample for evaluation. I've got a King sized latex foam mattress with a slight amount of top cushion. On top of that I've been using a 2 inch memory foam topper looks like egg crate with "zones" The zones supposedly give added cushioning to your hips and shoulders. It's OK but it's just not providing quite enough cushioning for my aging body. I'm a side sleeper and the older I get, the more I realize that I'm not sleeping well. I am constantly having to change my sleeping position due to uncomfortable pressure on my hips and shoulders. My current mattress doesn't support me properly any more even with the foam topper I've currently got on it. However the mattress was very expensive, is in great shape and isn't ready to be retired yet. I welcomed the opportunity to try out this memory foam topper to see if it could make my mattress tolerable again and my nights more restful.
I've tried 3" and 4", single layer memory foam toppers in the past and they were just too thick. My body sinks into them so far that I felt like I was climbing out of a pit every time I tried to roll over during my sleep. This Snuggle-pedic topper has dual layers and combined the mattress is just 2" thick. There is a softer 4lb layer and a more firm 5lb layer. That combination of 1 inch of softer foam combined with the second layer of firmer foam make all the difference in the world. No longer do I feel like I'm in a crater on my bed, yet the cushioning of the layers is truly extraordinarily comfortable. As with any memory foam topper that I've ever had, there is an initial odor that does dissipate with time. However I also felt that the odor from this mattress topper was far less than other's I've owned. This is definitely making a positive impact in the way I sleep. I'm sleeping much more soundly now with much less tossing and turning. It's made a world of difference and I actually can't wait to jump into bed now, it's so comfortable.
