In other markets outside of Japan, it has also been known as the Jazz, including Europe, Australia, and parts of Africa as well as some countries in the Middle East. The Fit wasn't unveiled all at once, as its release started first in Japan before making its way across the globe. The first model in the US didn't become available until 2006, where it made its first appearance on the American soil at the North American International Auto Show.
It wound up going on sale in the US in April of that year. The engine parts of the Honda Fit were updated in the US model to a 1.5L four-cylinder capable of around 109 horsepower directed through a standard five-speed manual transmission, although a five-speed automatic transmission is also available. Since the Honda Fit's arrival in the US, it has produced a substantial amount of success for the Japanese automaker.
