What makes a garage door “green?” The most commonly agreed definition is a door that has high energy efficiency and a long life. The most important choice you can make in buying a garage door is to insist on a garage door with polyurethane insulation. Polyurethane insulation is inserted into the door in a liquid form, and then “glues” everything together, creating a door with superior structural integrity, and one which will provide many years of service. Our garage door openers are predominately powered by DC motors and many utilize belt drives. DC motors allow for a soft start/soft stop, which is easier on the garage door and is quieter than an AC motor.
