MM (DU) achieves another milestone, gets the highest grade ‘A++’ from NAAC
The success story of MM(DU) continues with another big milestone of accomplishment. This time, Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana-Ambala has been accredited with the highest grade A++ by the most prestigious National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Established in 1994, NAAC is an autonomous body of UGC which assesses and accredits Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). NAAC has identified a set of seven criteria covering all the aspects of any HEI to serve as the basis of its assessment procedures. NAAC gives A++ grade to an institution which gets CGPA of 3.51 and more The grade has been announced after a NAAC peer team review was conducted during 13th to 15th December, 2021. This NAAC peer team included seven members from reputed Universities of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
It is worth mentioning that MM(DU) is already seen as one of the leading academic institutions of North India owing to its academic excellence, industry-oriented curriculum and record breaking placement of its students in top business organizations including Tesla, Microsoft, PWC, etc. MM(DU) offers admissions to nearly 129 different Undergraduate, Post graduate and Research programmes in the field of Medical, Para Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Science, Engineering & Technology, Computer Applications, Hotel Management, Law, Agriculture and Business Administration.
Elated over the development, the Chancellor Sh. Prof. Harish Sharma, Vice Chancellor-MM(DU) told that this is the highest grade given by NAAC to an institution based on various parameters, including Curricular Aspects; Teaching-learning & Evaluation; Research, Innovations & Extension; Infrastructure & Learning Resources; Student Support & Progression; Governance, Leadership & Management; and Institutional Values & Best Practices by following a stringent assessment method.
The University got a CGPA of 3.53 with highest grade of A++ valid for a period of 5 years from 21.12.2021. He further informed that in new system of accreditation which was introduced in July, 2017, a total of 2316 Institutions including the Universities and Colleges have been accredited by NAAC till date. Out of these institutions, only 42 institutions, which is only 1.8% of the total institutions, have been accredited with grade A++. Therefore it is indeed a proud moments for MM (DU) to join this coveted league of institutions of the country. MM (DU) has already been highly ranked by NIRF, QS and accredited by NABH, NABL, NBA & ASIC, UK. MM (DU) has also been in News for its academic excellence, industry-oriented curriculum and record breaking placements of its students in top business organisations.
