From reality darling to convicted of rape: 'He should be a role model' | BT Kendte - www.bt.dk The atmosphere was intoxicated and ecstatic for the final party for 'Paradise Hotel' in 2019, when the Faroese Teitur Skoubo together with his partner, Anne Plejdrup, were announced winners of this year's season. ‘This is my fucking season. That's my program. The Faroe Islands have taken over the reality world Denmark, «almost roared the big-smiling Teitur Skoubo, who in the last episode of the program cheated his partner and ran alone with a gain of 300,000 kroner. That particular season of 'Paradise Hotel' has now been removed from Viaplay, while also the seasons in which Teitur Skoubo starred in the reality shows 'Ex on the Beach' and 'Singletown' have been removed from Discovery +. All because of a verdict, the 26-year-old Faroese was sentenced by the Court in Odense on Wednesday for raping a young woman on November 28, 2021. A unanimous court sentenced him to two years and six months in prison and in the verdict there was among other things, emphasized that both alcohol and cocaine were subsequently measured in his blood, and that Teitur Skoubo as a public figure "should be a role model for other young people," as the judge put it. At the time, Teitur Skoubo was sitting in the middle of the courtroom while his girlfriend, Teresa Ovenberg, and several of the many others in the audience began to cry. Shortly afterwards, the reality star was imprisoned with reference to the length of the sentence, and both inside and outside the courtroom the mood was depressed - and as far from the euphoria almost two years earlier as it could be. Teitur Skoubo suddenly crashed from the pedestal as reality Denmark's charming Faroese. Teitur Skoubo also fell over in 2021 when he was expelled from the Reality Awards because, after receiving a warning, he went berserk and kicked a guard in the head. Two days earlier, when the trial against him began in a small courtroom at the Court in Odense, he looked like a man who still had hope. Friends and family had turned up to show their support, but only his girlfriend and two journalists from B.T. and Fyens Stiftstidende was present when he gave an explanation. At 10.01 on Monday morning, preparations were made for Teitur Skoubo to answer questions. But first, the prosecutor reviewed the explanation he, as the defendant, had already given the police. The explanation showed how the reality star together with a group of friends from 'Paradise Hotel' on the night of 28 November had been taken to the nightclub Butchers in Odense. Here they met two women from the city, who according to the explanation "seemed hot and horny". Then Teitur Skoubo and a friend from 'Paradise Hotel' were taken home to one of the two women, and according to himself, he got a blowjob from her on the way, which he is now convicted of having raped later that evening. A blowjob, which the woman, however, has denied should ever have taken place, and neither of the two witnesses - not even Teitur Skoubo's friend - could remember that it should have happened. Nevertheless, the four of them arrived at the woman's apartment around two o'clock on the night of November 28, where Teitur first explained that he had had sex with one of the two women, while he then went into the bedroom, where the abused 25-year-old woman was. Here he explained that she had confirmed that she was into hard sex and that he had therefore given her a non-hard blow with her hand before having sex. In addition to being a blogger and reality star, Teitur Skoubo is an independent online coach, where he primarily helps young women to have a better relationship with diet and exercise. But after the rape case has been reported in the media, he has lost both customers and revenue. During intercourse, she fell off the bed by accident, after which she had begun to bleed from her face, the explanation read. However, Teitur Skoubo did not succeed in convincing the court, as it did not agree with the woman's explanation or the injuries she had received during the episode. But he did not know it at the time. On the other hand, there was broad agreement among the four present in the apartment in Odense that evening that Teitur Skoubo shortly after the episode in the bedroom had put on his clothes and left the apartment, which he only managed to be in for about a quarter of an hour. At the time, the 25-year-old was sitting naked on the floor of the room. Barely two hours later - at 04.02 - Teitur Skoubo was arrested at the nightclub Butchers, where he had gone back to party. In court, the reality star was asked, among other things, about his sexual preferences and whether he had taken drugs that night. Both seemed to be delicate issues for him to bring to justice. “I have family and I am a public figure. I have many young boys who look up to me, "he said, and continued:" That part, I hoped, did not come out. "In court, he also said that the case, even before it was decided, had had great significance for not only his life but also for his finances. Prior to the trial, he had already lost major collaborators and sponsors on Instagram, just as he had lost clients in his online coaching business. "It's ruined everything for me," he said. After just under 50 minutes, the interrogation ended, and after a brief pause, it was the wronged woman's turn to lay out her version of the case in court. However, it took place behind closed doors, and therefore the public only got an insight into her side of the case in the prosecutor's final procedure on Wednesday, where the case had been moved to a much larger courtroom with room for all the approximately 20 listeners and the press who showed up. Here it appeared that the woman had given an explanation five times, one of which was printed in a 62-page long document. According to the prosecutor, the explanation was both detailed and unambiguous, just as she was described as 'undramatic' and 'credible'. According to her explanation, she had only drunk quite a bit that night because she was going to get up for work the next morning, and perhaps that is why she could also remember many small details. Among other things, where she put her jacket when they entered the apartment and that the bed moved five centimeters. In addition, the prosecutor - and ultimately also the trial court - placed great emphasis on the fact that her explanation was consistent with the injuries she had been diagnosed at the Department of Forensic Medicine a few hours after the rape. On the other hand, he did not pay much attention to the explanation from Teitur Skoubo's friend, who was present in the apartment on the night of 28 November and had therefore also given an explanation in court. He had stayed in the apartment with the two young women after Teitur Skoubo had slipped away. in a message to the friend, just as he had sent a voice message to another mutual friend in which he said he was engaged in a 'rescue operation'. This led the prosecutor to describe his credibility as frayed. "It says a lot about his judgment, but also about his sneaky manner," the prosecutor said in his proceeding. He admitted that this was a special situation because both parties first agreed to have sex and that the 25-year-old woman had given consent. But that consent disappeared the moment Teitur Skoubo out of the blue hit her several times in the face. Not surprisingly, Teitur Skoubo's defense attorney disagreed with the presentation of the case. He believed instead that there was enough doubt about the episode and about the woman's explanation for the verdict. Therefore, the claim was until - and after - the last that Teitur Skoubo should be acquitted. It also meant that the verdict was appealed to the High Court immediately after it was handed down. The decision that Teitur Skoubo should be remanded in custody immediately after the verdict was also appealed to the Eastern High Court, which on Friday, however, ruled that the imprisonment should be maintained. Subsequently, Teitur Skoubo's defense lawyer has stated that they will apply to have the case before the Supreme Court. In addition to the fact that all the reality shows that Teitur Skoubo has participated in have been taken down, his former 'Paradise Hotel' partner Anne Plejdrup and several other reality participants have announced that they no longer want contact with him. In addition, Kit Nielsen, who arranges the Reality Awards, has told Ekstra Bladet that he is not welcome until he has served his sentence.
