Horrible hygiene at the Prime Minister's hotel: 'It hits us hard' | BT Society - www.bt.dk Well enough, there was no hair in the soup. But in return, much else was wrong when a large historic hotel recently received an unexpected visit. With 55 years behind it, Glostrup Park Hotel is among Greater Copenhagen's oldest and most famous. However, much water has flowed through the river since 1967. Glostrup Park Hotel is today four-star and approved as a hotel, course and conference provider to the state. It is not accidental. The hotel was expanded several years ago with a total investment of more than DKK 175 million. Among other things, in the form of a new conference center of almost 2,800 square meters and a major makeover of the hotel's panoramic restaurant, La Cocotte. Here you can, among other things, enjoy your lunch in the fashionable extension Orangeriet, where the ceiling is clad in copper and the floor is clad in large Spanish natural stone tiles. Glostrup Park Hotel's new conference center, called the Orangery, is a completely independent building located at the northern end of Glostrup's fine city park. Photo: Press photo Despite this, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration was not particularly impressed with the sight that met them during an inspection visit earlier this month. The cleaning was so bad that it triggered a dump character in the form of a sour smiley and a double fine of a total of 20,000 kroner. "The criticism hits us hard, as we are usually very careful in terms of kitchen hygiene," says hotel manager Mikael Melander to B.T. The problems include inadequate cleaning of the dishwashers, a coffee machine and a couple of kitchen machines, the inspection report states. Among other things, accumulations of food scraps and older dirt were found under a stove, and in the aisle there was older dried-up dirt under a coffee machine. In addition, 'red coatings' were found in several areas of a large tunnel dishwasher. Among other things on all the slats. In addition, there were coatings of dirt inside another dishwasher. »The cleaning area and the dishes are two areas we have chosen to outsource, but the responsibility for compliance with the cleaning procedures is of course ours. This has been emphasized to those responsible with us as well as the external dishwashing company, "says Mikael Melander. This is not the first time that Glostrup Park Hotel has received a sanction due to poor hygiene. In December last year, the hotel received an emphasis on a similar relationship - the same as a happy smiley. It then resulted in two fee-based, follow-up inspections, the second of which in a row has now resulted in a fine. "I am sure that we have now rectified the situation so that we can get our happy smileys back," says hotel director Mikael Melander. Restaurant La Cocotte was established at Glostrup Park Hotel in the beginning of 1991 with the help of Jan ‘Cocotte’ Pedersen, who served as head chef during the restaurant's early days. At the time, Jan Pedersen was a famous world champion, when in 1989 he was the first Danish chef to win a world championship, Bocuse d’Or.
