Hobin lost his father at a young age, being left with his ill mother in a poor environment. Hobin is forced to mature quickly and find jobs to support his sick mother, barely thinking of his own health. It is shown in Episode 79 that Hobin has started working at a very young age, working up to 12 part time jobs a day with barely any breaks in between.

At the beginning of the webtoon, he works as a cashier in a McDonald's, however it had barely been enough to pay the weekly bills. At school, he would get bullied and humiliated by Pakgo, a 700,000 subscriber NewTuber, along with his cameraman, "Jiksae".
