World-renowned monkey expert reveals Michael Jackson's animal cruelty | BT Celebrities - www.bt.dk The king of pop, Michael Jackson, was a quite eccentric gentleman who, among other things, had his own zoo on his Neverland ranch. One of the animals here was the chimpanzee Bubbles, who was almost always by the star's side, and who was often photographed while dressed in plain clothes. He also slept in a bed in Michael Jackson's bedroom. But the relationship between the two was not so rosy at all. For when Bubbles made monkey tricks, he was physically punished. It tells one of the world's leading primatologists Jane Goodall in a new documentary on ITV, where it examines what has happened to Michael Jackson's animals. ‘Bubbles were beaten when he did something wrong. Michael (Jackson, ed.) Once said he was beaten across the room. I said, 'Well, Michael, and do you think that was right?'. He replies: 'No, not really', 'Jane Goodall explains in the documentary. Here's what Bubbles looked like two years ago when he was 37 years old. She also tells that Michael Jackson at one point told her that she probably would not care that a chimpanzee was hit in the head. That gave Jane Goodall the pop star completely right in that she would not. According to Jane Goodall, Michael Jackson also smiled when she showed him video clips of monkeys in labs and in cages. This is not the first time that 88-year-old Jane Goodall talks about the treatment Bubbles received when he was in Michael Jackson's custody. Also in 2014, she told TMZ that Bubbles was beaten. The ex-husband of La Toya Jackson, Michael Jackson's sister, has previously said he saw Michael Jackson hit Bubbles in the head as well as kick him in the stomach. Michael Jackson's family has consistently denied that the star was violent towards the chimpanzee. When Michael Jackson became a father in 1997, Bubbles began behaving so aggressively that Michael Jackson had to part with him. He bought a new chimpanzee instead and named it… Bubbles. Since then, he bought two more baby chimpanzees. The time after for Bubbles should, according to the Mirror, have been quite tough and have offered several suicide attempts. Luck turned, however, when in 2004 he came to a center for monkeys in Florida. Here, everyday life as an extension of the world's biggest pop star was replaced with a schedule that primarily consists of painting and listening to classical music. And where Michael Jackson died 50 years old in 2009, 39-year-old Bubbles is still in full vigor to this day.
