Höustle

The sudden, swift, severe summer storm caught me totally unaware. I was walking down an Old countryside road when the clouds started to gather. I looked around as I creped under a large, dead oak tree. Almost all of the houses on this abandoned street were too badly damaged for me to take shelter in, except for one. The house stood out in the purply black sky. A flash of lightning briefly illuminated the house. The windows were broken, but the actual house seemed fine. I was getting soaked as I stood and watched the house, thinking should I stay under the Tree and risk getting hit by lightning or should I go into that old house, but I don't know what could be in there, or if some one is in there. Then the storm decided for me, Lightning hit the tree, filling the air with sparks. I dashed onto the porch and slammed on the door, and it was open, I heard a noise, I thought to my self, what was that? I thought my heart was coming out my mouth. I slowly turned around. I didn't see anyone, but that didn't mean that no one was in the house with me. It was a large house. I was thinking before I went into the living room, will I go in. My flashlight showed me paintings of a red-haired man and a lot of antiques. Over at the fireplace, in the other side of the room, hung a mirror with a gold frame CRASH I jumped and almost dropped my flashlight. My heart pounded as the glass scattered around the ground. Then it all went silent, I stood at the bottom of the staircase. The sounds had come from upstairs. I swallowed my fears and climbed the stairs. On the second floor I found a bathroom, it didn't even have any running water. Since I didn't since need to go I didn't bother going in. I found several Bedrooms on up the stairs, moths all over the clothes that might have been worn at one time. At the end of the second floor, I found yet another stair well. This one was a dark and spider web everywhere. It led to what must have been the children's floor at one point. There was a playroom that took up most of the space, along with two bedrooms with furniture, What I thought was a closet at first it was really a narrow flight of stairs that lead into the attic. A giant rat flied across the floor, its beady eyes glowed red in the shine of the torch. It hissed at me, I screamed and dropped my torch, I took several deep breaths to calm me down as I was so frightened and started going up the stairs again. Rapid flashes of flickering lighted up the attic There was a broken window, well now I no what caused the crash. I found an old plank of wood. I had intended to use it to cover the broken window, but on my way to the window, I tripped over a large trunk. The trunk wasn't locked, but it was rusted shut. I grabbed the top and pulled with all of my strength. The trunk wouldn't open, I kept trying and it finally opened.
