Started from 2017, she began to steal attention when appearing on BTS's "Love Yourself" Highlight Reel along with the member of the same group, Shin Yuna. She, Yuna, Yeji, and Chaeryeong also appeared on the Mnet reality show titled Stray Kids with Stray Kids members.

At the same year, Ryujin auditioned for survival reality show MIXNINE. She had shown an amazing talents by succeeded in occupying the first position on girl's team. Unfortunately, she hasn't made his debut yet because the male team was chosen as the final winner of the survival show.

She finnaly officialy debuted as ITZY member after being trained for four years. The girlgroup which formed under JYP Entertainment made their debut on February 12, 2019 by released a single album titled It'z Different which contains two songs, namely "Dalla Dalla" as title track and "Want It?".
